How to join the MDBR as a disease team

New Team applications will open each fall for the following years’ MDBR (i.e. MDBR 2023 applications will open fall of 2022). To be sure you don’t miss the application deadline, follow our social media for application announcements and join our mailing list.

The 2025 Million Dollar Bike Ride will include one participation level. Please review participation offered for the MDBR 2025.


Participate in the ride as a way to generate interest in your disease area. Your team pays a nonrefundable $500 participation fee and independently raises funds to be used at your own discretion. The ODC will not offer matching funds but we will offer grant assistance if you choose to use your funds for a pilot grant.

2025 New Team Participation includes: 

  • A nonrefundable $500 participation fee 

  • A professionally organized, staffed, legally permitted, and insured event  safeguarded by city police and EMTs, as well as Penn police

  • A requirement of 15 participants minimum (includes 5 cyclists minimum + 10 volunteers/cyclists)

  • Opportunity to fundraise for your organization on your digital fundraising platform of choice 

  • Opportunity to raise awareness/promote your organization/cause and engage your community without having to organize your own charity event 

  • Opportunity to use fundraised dollars at your own discretion. The funds your team raise will not funnel through the ODC

  • The ODC will not provide matching funds, nor will the ODC receive or issue funds on behalf of your organization

    Please note: We are not offering matching funds for the 2025 MDBR, nor an associated grant program. The Independent Fundraising Team is the only option for participation.
